The World Needs Creatives with Rachael Sardelich

08. Kirsten Shanks on Pioneering a Plant Based Legacy.

Rachael Sardelich

Today, we step into the visionary world of Kirsten Shanks—a naturopath, herbalist, nutritionist, and the founder & creative director behind the beloved brand and healing movement known as Orchard St.

As a pioneer in the realm of true health, Kirsten saw an opportunity to bring a creation into being that the world so deeply needed. She embarked on a bold journey to dissolve the barriers preventing her community from readily accessing nature's healing medicines to support and heal their common health challenges.

What initially started with the seed of an idea to create a seasonal selection organic juice cleanses, has blossomed into an alchemical herbal medicine cabinet and ritual sanctuary, serving as the bridge that has transformed Orchard St into a vessel for healing.

Through four iconic spaces nestled in the heart of Sydney and a meticulously curated product range, Orchard St. invites us to rediscover the transformative power of plant medicine. From potent herbal remedies to conscious lifestyle wares and signature juice cleanse offerings, each creation is a testament to Kirsten's profound connection to the natural world.

Alongside hearing Kirsten’s creation story of bringing Orchard St to life, we also unpack:

 - The “wellness industry” and explore what “wellness” truly means today
 - Kirsten's intuitive approach to evolve her brand
 - How she has cultured a thriving community
 - Adaptogens and how and why we might want to weave them into our days
 - Kirsten shares how she finds fluidity and softness shapeshifting between her roles as a mother, visionary and creative director.
